Hedgie Soap is a gentle, moisturizing bath wash developed specifically with hedgehogs in mind. It has been extensively tested and tweaked in order to achieve the best possible result, and is the same soap that we use for our own hedgehogs.
Our original, homemade formula utilizes an all-natural cleanser base (derived from vegetable oils) for effective bathing without the harsh effect of many commercial products. This proprietary recipe combines organic coconut oil with other high quality, non-toxic ingredients, using precise ratios for optimal balance. It is designed to soothe and hydrate the skin, without leaving a greasy residue. The light lather creates mild suds and rinses easily from a hedgehog's quills.
Since its introduction, Hedgie Soap has received overwhelming customer praise and become a cult favorite in the online hedgehog community. This product is more than mere soap - it is wonderfully nourishing and highly potent in combating and preventing dry skin, which so many hedgehogs are prone to. In nearly all cases, this single product can not only eliminate the need for additional moisturizing oils during/between baths, it also controls dryness and flaky "dandruff" more effectively and with less effort.
Based on such impressive results, Hedgie Soap is undeniably "head and shoulders" above any alternatives.

≫ Shake before each use!*
≫ Put a small squirt of Hedgie Soap onto wet hands.
≫ Rub hands together to create a lather.
≫ Stroke and massage onto the hedgehog's quills and underside.
For hedgehogs with existing flakes/"dandruff", we recommend first using a warm water soak, followed by a gentle circular rub with a toothbrush under the quills. This will soften, exfoliate and loosen the flakes of skin. Then bathe with Hedgie Soap (as described above). This method allows the moisturizing ingredients to better permeate into the healthy skin under the flakes.

This product is "unscented". It does not include any added perfumes or essential oils that might irritate a hedgehog's sensitive nose, though during use there may be a very faint scent from the various ingredients used.
*This recipe does not include an emulsifier additive, so the oil components can "separate".
The ingredients of this soap are not prone to "going bad". Between use, store away from heat and sunlight. Expected shelf life of 6-12 months (minimum).
The contents may "harden" when exposed to temperatures below 70-72. To return it to liquid form, place the bottle in front of a heater or run warm water over the outside (when closed).
